HOW I RECOVER FROM LIGAMENT TEAR/ACL AND MCL WITHOUT DOING SURGERY

Hi, everyone; this post will not be related to my blog title. Still, I want to share my experience recovering from a ligament tear without surgery. So these tips are helpful for people who are facing the same kind of situation. 

By reading my page, you will know how we are deceived by doctors; I am not declaring all the doctors, but some doctors. So think, before arranging any operation, consult more than one second opinion to know the truth, then proceed, so whoever is viewing, please have the patience to read my experience and how I have gone through ACL TEAR. So, let's go ahead and read my story …

 Remember the checkout doctor website? I linked it down; all the information you can get is on that web page; he is such a super doctor, not a mind person. I don't know what I would have done without his words to cure my ligament tear. I went there with my last hope.

ACL TEAR --  Anterior cruciate ligament.
MCL TEAR-- medial collateral ligament.
This kind of problem affects women across the age of 35.


On February 28, 2016,


This was a frightening day in my life; on the evening of February 28, my son wanted to play Tennis while playing with him. My ankle got twisted later, and I felt pain in my knee area while walking. I considered usual pain only, so I needed to rest, then the pain would go off, but my knee swelled the next day. I was unable to move or keep my footsteps properly and straight. Then, it began to pour on my knee daily, so I immediately consulted a lady doctor. She said this was a gastric problem in the knee; I never knew gastric would also come to the knee area. She gave me pain medicines for one week, so I started to have them for one week, but there was no improvement, swelling, or pain.
Then I thought to consult with our family doctor, and my son and I went there. He checked it said the same gastric problem, so he gave him medicine for another week. 


IN MARCH 2016,

So after one week, I got an appointment to meet an orthopedic doctor. Now, I cannot climb steps in the hospital with the help of a wheelchair. I went there, and then I met him. 

He checked it and twisted my leg like a rolling cycle. Now the pain has increased; he prescribed medicine for another week, so a total of 15 days over, not even a slight improvement there; we thought to consult an experienced doctor in orthopedics.


ON 11TH MARCH 2016,

We got an appointment at Columbia Hospital. We went there. He checked it and told me it was like a tear on the knee, so I went for a one-week ultrasound and physiotherapy and another two weeks for knee exercise. 

Then we started doing ultrasound therapy, so the one-day ultrasound cost RS450; I went for seven days for ultrasound treatment after she gave me a couple of exercise paper sheets and asked me to do it for two weeks. With great hope, I started to exercise, but still no improvement in reducing the ice cube swelling. I cannot walk even a single step or stand for five minutes.


ON 30TH APRIL 2016

At end of April 30 we thought to have consult with same  Doctor for no improvement ,we visited there after checking he told me that pain should go off now, but still pain is  there means u have to take  MRI scan,  on same day I went for MRI scan cost RS 15000 got the result  in report mentioned I have ACL and MCL tear on my left knee immediately we consulted Doctor after he read the description didn't explain any thing he said two tear on left knee, so we have to go for knee surgery coming Thursday we have the operation you pays the amount in  reception , now my mind was totally collapsed  what i well do who is going to take care of my kid and family if I went for surgery it will take several  months to walk alone, my husband consulted billing section they said we to pay two lakes for surgery and bring our insurance coverage then we came home my husband told me ,I will  arrange the amount we'll go for surgery, but my opinion was I  don't want to go for surgery we well find another way to recover from this problem ,then i told we go for physiotherapy near by our house do same ultra sound treatment for while.

On 2nd May 2016,

Now, I started to walk like a penguin; my left leg lost all strength, and I began to put pressure on my right knee. While walking, people surrounding me started to laugh at me; the pain was so much that I didn't have tears in my eyes to cry. I'm praying that god will help me to recover from this problem.

We are searching for a good physiotherapist in our area so that it won't take time for him to drop me off at home and start his work. After that, I got a Monday appointment with the Doctor we went to. I explained everything that had happened in the past two months, then he explained why this tear had occurred on our knee.

 He assured me I would feel better after my treatment, but for full recovery, it would take one year or more than it, depending on my body's condition. He started his treatment and told us I had solved more cases like this, so there was no need for an operation; he visited for treatment daily for half an hour and didn't exercise until I recommended it.

I started to go regularly for one month. He does 15 minutes for an ultrasound and another 15 minutes for heat production on my knee to increase blood circulation and repair the torn area.
I went there for one month daily. I felt better after doing this treatment, and then I went twice weekly for an ultrasound, but I am not able to walk for more than 10 to 15 min; in between, we were not able to afford 350 rupees daily for Doctor fees, so I started searching for another option for ultrasound one of my neighbors recommended nearby our house physiotherapy college there they giving treatment very well under minimal amount a day, so I went their ultrasound treatment. I realize doing it regularly makes me feel better. Still, they suggested that we could not do it daily because it may have another effect on us, so they asked us to take another MRI scan to verify the current position of my knee. Now I am in a dilemma; which Doctor do I consult now? I have visited five doctors for consultancy; over six months, 50000 rupees were spent, but no cure.

In June 2016,

Meanwhile, I searched the Internet for ACL and MCL tear-curing possibilities and bought some products to reduce pain. Then I ordered (KT TAPE ) to leave my knee position because my knee went down from its actual position, touching the torn area. It pains me a lot while moving my leg.

If you noticed, my knee area looks perfect.
Nothing happens to my leg, but the pain others can't feel. 

Why I'm saying this because many people used to see my leg and say Your knee looks like nothing happened  



In July 2016,

    In July, we didn't visit any doctor. I am tired of seeing all the doctors. I am in pain; I don't know the procedure.


On August 27, 2016,

  Meanwhile, we learned about an experienced orthopedics doctor in Bangalore; getting an appointment with him takes a lot of work, so we waited three days to get his license. I met the Doctor, and I showed him my MRI SCAN REPORT) After reading my case, he said nothing worried about a simple tear, only it will heal by itself. Hence, no need for surgery. This type of tear usually occurs in all women reaching 35 years, the two reasons Dr told me!


Reason for the bone week for ladies,


1, lack of vitamin D, and lack of sunlight exposure.
2. Because of worries or stress, we ladies do not keep ourselves relaxed and happy, which may cause our bones to weaken.

But I needed treatment because of my worries about the pain in my knee area. I insisted he give me medicine to heal the tear and decrease the pain; after many questions, I asked him, and the Doctor told me to keep doing this strengthening exercise for one month. It's a bone tear. He said it will take several months to heal, so see me, nothing to worry about. I came out and told my husband there was nothing to worry about; it was pain that prevented me from walking correctly. He said to wait for one month to do this exercise.

ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2016,

  After doing strengthening exercises with great hope that the pain would be reduced, I could not walk correctly. I needed to consult with the Doctor for around one month to determine whether I was doing it correctly. I called the hospital for an appointment; the lady who attended the call was not ready to give me an appointment. She asked me so many questions. The Doctor told you not to visit for the next three months and wait until the date. I said I'm leaving the country, so I wanted to meet him once concerning my knee problem, then she gave me an appointment.
So the next day, we went to their Doctor and forgot about my problem again. He asked for everything. I showed him my MRI SCAN. He checked my knee area, read the   MRI report, and said your report and knee area situation don't match anything. The information should have been correctly written.

My husband and I were outraged by what the Doctor said to us, and we explained to him that we were moving out of the country. We wanted to know whether I can be able to travel or not. Still, I was having pain while walking.

Then he assured me this healing takes several months or more than a year, so be patient. Keep doing strengthening exercises; you will get cured. That speech he gave me made my mind clear. It helped me escape the fear of my problem, and we came to the USA. Slowly, I am getting the cure, but I still have pain while walking for extended periods in my healing area.

Conclusion,

I had gone through all the mental and physical pain to avoid surgery because I had a wrong impression of doctors when I met them for this treatment. So far, most are money-minded people; this is my personal experience.

Despite all the physical treatment personally, I went through so many problems that no one from my family helped me out at that time. 

My father was also not feeling well; one day, when I went to physiotherapy, the person who did that procedure gave me hope to recover from this tear. Her speech was really motivating for me. 

If you are not optimistic, you can't recover from any problem.
I want to thank my husband, who cared for me in my difficult situation when I couldn't walk for eight months.

My maid helped me with all my house chores despite my pain. I used to bear the pain of cooking for my family.

My son helps me by keeping ice cubes and filling the hot water bag, and allows me to do strengthening exercises; primarily, he uses to wipe my tears when I cry.

FOLLOWING STEPS TO RECOVER FROM THE PAIN

1. Consult the family doctor and show the report to them before going for any surgery.
2. Keep the ice bag only if you have to swell in the knee area; otherwise, don't keep it because the cooling load reduces our blood circulation in the problem area and does not allow it to heal,
3. Do strengthening exercises three times a day.
4. Go for ultrasound therapy for one month.
5. Using KT tape helps us relieve pain.
6. Don't sit down,
7. Claim steers when you fully recover from pain.
8. Always be thinking positively,
9. Use the hot bag on the knee area. It helps us to heel quickly.
10; Stay in the sunlight daily for a half-hour.
11. Don't use heels and slippers while playing with kids.

FOLLOWING THINGS NEEDED FOR BETTER RECOVERY,
PANCHA RATNA OIL



Apply this oil where you are getting pain three times a day. It reduces the pain and increases the blood circulation to the heel of the tear. Don't wash and wipe it after applying the oil, and  don't use the soap until the oil is absorbed by the skin, 




KT TAP,
Use KT tape to reduce the knee area; this KT tape helps me while walking outside. I bought it on Amazon.






HEATING PAD,

This heating pad helped me to increase blood circulation and reduce pain. I prefer to use it at night for 10 to 15 minutes.

KNEE WRAPPING,
This knee wrapping is used daily while you go outside and only when moving your leg.


On this blog page, I am sharing my experience with this valuable information for people who have the mindset not to go for surgery only. 

It took me one year and three months to recover from the pain, but still, I have pain in my heel area if I walk more than an hour, I have significant improvement so far.
